I just received a letter saying i exhausted my unemployment insurance. Am i eligible to receive an extension if i still don't have a job even though i have been looking?

Nope. See, that exhaustion, means you ran out of money, not time. Extensions only give you more time – not more money.

Currently, no one can begin an extension, because the law that allowed extensions to begin expired last month. A law to allow extensions to begin at any time from now until approximately Thanksgiving passed the House of Representatives already, and the Senate is expected to vote soon.
